### You can use surveys to receive feedback from your students or give them some extra points by responding to a survey but there are a lot of ways to use surveys and benefit from the response.

With numerous options in surveys and quizzes let's start off bij explaining the difference; Quizzes and Survey uses the same technology except that Surveys do not have right or wrong answers and can be submitted anonymously. Quizzes are automatically scored by Canvas (except for text answers) and can be used to assess students' understanding.

With Canvas LMS announcing the end-of-life of Classic Quizzes![john-schnobrich-2FPjlAyMQTA-unsplash-scaled](https://blog.drieam.com/hs-fs/hubfs/john-schnobrich-2FPjlAyMQTA-unsplash-scaled.jpeg?width=390&name=john-schnobrich-2FPjlAyMQTA-unsplash-scaled.jpeg) and deprecating its functionality, we’re seeing a lot of universities and colleges considering alternative solutions for the features that possibly won't be a part of the replaceable New Quizzes. In this article we’re looking at graded and ungraded surveys used by instructors in courses. We’ll offer a solution that works through two platforms which are likely already purchased and in-use at your institution. We’ll describe the option through our partner Qualtrics and our own Qualtrics LTI for Canvas, allowing instructors to embed surveys as Canvas assignments.
