Advantages and disadvantages of Classic vs New Quizzes in Canvas

Quizzes in Canvas are assignments that can be used to challenge student understanding and assess comprehension of course material.

The quiz tool is used to create and administer online quizzes and surveys. You can also use quizzes to create exams and assessments, both graded and ungraded. First of all there are 2 types of quizzes in Canvas; 

• Classic Quizzes is the original quiz tool in Canvas.
• New Quizzes is a new quiz tool still in development by Canvas. It was released late summer 2020 and features are still being added. 

Eventually, New Quizzes will replace Classic Quizzes within the next year or so. There are some things that you and your organization need to get used to but, at the end, there are a lot of options and solutions for the upcoming changes.
