Kun je je het nog herinneren dat je zelf in de klas of in de collegezaal zat? Met een notitieblok voor je neus consumeerde je alle informatie die de docent op dat moment verzorgde en driftig probeerde je zoveel mogelijk aantekeningen te maken. Tijdens het studeren was het een kwestie van notities in je hoofd stampen en belangrijke informatie opzoeken in boeken. Als je geluk had, kon je wellicht nog gebruik maken van een computer. Klinkt dit bekend? Voor jou wellicht wel maar voor de studenten van nu is dit allang achterhaald.

The classroom environment must evolve since our world gets more and more complex and ever changing. Students must learn to take initiative, become the owners of their own learning success and progress and be able to learn more self-directed than ever. But it is not only up to them: Teachers as well should provide a learning environment that encourages them to take ownership and put the student into the driving seat of their learning process.
